How do we refute that Rasoolulahi (SAW) is Alimul Ghaib?

Q:) How do we refute that Rasoolulahi (SAW) is Alimul Ghaib? consider the following:

Believers use the following evidences to support their belief that rasoolulla (SAW) had IlmulGhaib:

1. The verse “And taught you whatever you did not know” (4:113) implies that prophet SAW had all knowledge except which is given specification.

2. The 5 things which only Allah knows mentioned in 31:34 means those who claim to know them without Allah teaching them does not know it. But Allah taught rasoolullah SAW – this is why the Hadith mentioned in Bukhari that he told the congregation “Ask of me and I shall tell you anything from now till Qiyamah” and the other hadith that rasoolullah SAW mentioned the places where people would die at Badr.

3. When Jibreeli Ameen questioned prophet SAW about the time of Qiyamah he said “The questioned has no more knowledge than the questionnaire” – he did not lie and say “I don’t know” or tell the truth because the Mushriks would consider him as god; rather he meant Jibreel (AS) knows no more than himself SAW, but Jibreel knows when Qiyamah is because he is the leader of the angels and Israfeel (AS) knows so he must know.

4. The ayah “Knower of the unseen and does not give clarification on the unseen to anybody except those he is pleased with from the messengers” (72:26-26) 6. Allah is Al-aleem – his knowledge is limitless, the prophet’s knowledge is vast but limited.

5. If you claim Allah’s qualities are taken – he is also Alimush Shahadah. Mufti:

  • How do we refute these arguments?

  • Does believing in this tantamount to shirk or not?

Ruling on Women Travelling without a Mahram

Question: The general understanding is that it is prohibited in the Shariah for a female to travel without a Mahram under all circumstances and including for religious purposes such as hajj.

Are there any exceptions to this rule? If a woman wishes to travel to another city for a religious conference/seminar without the company of a mahram male, would that be permissible? If she wishes to travel alone (or with a sister) to a Muslim country to undertake Islamic studies, would that be permissible? If she wishes to travel to visit her parents in the home country, but her husband or another Mahram cannot join, would she be able to travel independently?

Is the rule to be applied differently in this age when most travelling, in flights etc., is done in collective groups?

Ruling on consuming the Meat of Ahlul-Kitab (People of the Book)

Question: I have come across Muslims who try and justify that we are permitted to eat the meat of the Jews/Christians, as is, e.g. McDonalds, supermarkets etc on the basis of the opinion given by Yusuf Al- Qaradawi:

”Since Allah did not prohibit it, the food of the Jews and the Christians is permitted to you on the basis of the original permissibility of things, and likewise you can share your food with them. Accordingly, you can eat the flesh of the animals they have slaughtered or hunted, and they can eat what you have slaughtered or hunted.”
(The Lawful and The Prohibited in Islam by Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, page 59).

”The application of the phrase, [part of the verse of the Quran, 5:5] ‘the food of those who were given the Scripture,’ is general and includes their meats, produce, and other foods. All of these are halal for us excepting what is haram in itself, e.g., the flesh of a dead animal, pork, and flowing blood, as these are haram regardless of whether they are obtained from a Christian, a Jew or a Muslim. “
(The Lawful and The Prohibited in Islam by Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, page 60)

Music and Singing: A Detailed Fatwa

Q:) Music and Singing: A detailed fatwa?

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind.

The worst case scenario in the event of being inflicted with a disease is when the one involved refuses to believe that he has been inflicted with that disease. The way this phenomenon is accepted and recognised in diseases and illnesses that affect the physical body, it is also true with regards to spiritual diseases and ailments.

When a person commits a sin (may Allah save us all) believing that a sin is being committed and feels regret and remorse in the heart, then this is far better then committing the sin and believing it to be lawful (halal). In the former situation, only one sin is being committed, and it is very likely that the individual may repent out of the remorse felt in the heart. In the latter case, however, in addition to the sin being committed, there is the greater sin of trying to justify it. Normally, such an individual does not receive the guidance to repent from his sin. (May Allah save us all, Ameen).
